Autumn Leaves Triptych - 2007
Oil on Deep Edged Canvases - Commissioned Piece

The brief was to paint a series of three paintings with a leaf theme. I love the shapes of these maple leaves and made sure that the three canvases would work together by designing the branches to flow between each piece. The shadows were a challenge - achieved by tracing the leaves and then creating a template to ensure an exact replica of the leaf design underneath. I chose to incorporate a tiny indication of green colour within each leaf to ensure that the paintings coordinated with the wall they were to be hung on.
