Painted in situ during a week in Venice during Summer 2007

Although it was a dull day and raining heavily when I painted this (I sat sheltered in a covered alley way), I felt inspired to create a bright colourful painting with a looser style by flowing the colour down the page. Rumour has it that the house with the tall interesting chimneys on the right hand side is owned by Woody Allen.
